Hi, I’m Mac, and I’m proud to serve as the principal of Licton Springs for the second year. I’ve had the privilege of working with students and schools for many years—as a high school principal, elementary principal, district athletic director, and in central office leadership.
I’m originally from Conroe, a small town in Texas. My journey brought me to Washington State University on an athletic scholarship, where I earned my bachelor’s degree. I later completed my master’s degree at the University of Washington.
It is truly a joy to support the Licton Springs school community. I’m committed to fostering a safe, inclusive, and vibrant learning environment where every student can thrive.
Hi, I'm Teacher Maddie! This is my first year as an IA and I'm in love with the work. I've always loved working with kids-- while working on my Master's in Library and Information Science, I completed a directed fieldwork at the Bryant Elementary library and fell in love with education. Now, I'm working on my teaching certification: I would love to work as an elementary librarian, preschool teacher, or elementary teacher. In my free time, I love to read, write, craft, go on city adventures with friends, and play with my kitty!
Hi! I'm Andrea Porter-Smith, occupational therapist. I love being an OT and working with students to achieve their goals! When I'm not doing fun movement breaks and writing games with students, I enjoy hiking, swimming, reading, and crafting with my 5- and 2-year-old daughters. I look forward to getting to know your student and family this school year.
Education: MOT University of Minnesota / BA Lewis and Clark College
My name is Manju Sharma. I am so excited to be at Licton Springs. I have a master’s in science and MIT. I was born in India, but I have lived in this country for more time than India. This is home now. I have 2 sons. The elder works for Amazon and the younger is doing CS at UW. I have always wanted to teach, so I went back to school to get my Masters in Teaching, and it is a dream come true. I feel that Math and Physics can make one look at the universe in such a special way. I love kids, animals, and trees. When not teaching, I enjoy gardening, yoga, ethnobotany, cooking, sketching on and off, travel (money and time permitting), watching comedies and the news, and spending time with my family and the list goes on I love planting trees during winters for a non-profit, Mountain to Sound Greenway Trust, in Puget Sound. I look forward to meeting the students.

I love being active and I’m a huge nerd. I enjoy sharing my love of learning with students, especially when it comes to history. I got my BA in History at WWU and firmly believe that education is a way to open so many doors. I love reading and playing video games to relax or taking my dogs for long walks throughout Seattle.
I am a true outdoorsman who loves to fish, camping and going on hikes and enjoying the scenery of the Northwest. I am a DIY addict who likes to build things and make my visions a reality. I am a sportaholic who loves all sports that competes. I’m a 206 everything fan, the Seahawks, The Super Sonics, Mariners, Sounders, The Krakens, Storm, and most of all I’m a Garfield Bulldog, and WSU alumni. Go Cougs!
I have worked in Seattle schools in many different jobs since 2003. In that time, I have worked in around 80 different schools. I became a special education teacher because I love being able to work with students one-on-one and in small groups. It’s a great way to bond and build rapport with students. I have a master’s in teaching from SPU and have worked at Licton Springs since 2019. I love the small size of our school, the community and the flexibility that those things allow us.
Education: MA Seattle Pacific University / BA University of Washington
Hi, I’m Laisan (pronounced lay-sohn) and I’ve been a part of Seattle Public Schools since 2013. I started as a tutor, then worked as a special education assistant and now am excited to be an office assistant at Licton Springs. I was born and raised in New York but have lived in Seattle for over half my life. I live in Ballard with my husband and son (who learned to ride a bike in Webster Park), and I like to experiment with quick bread recipes.
