Staff Changes for the 2026–27 School Year
As we look ahead to next year, we want to share some staffing updates with our Licton Springs community. Staffing changes are a natural part of each school year, and we are grateful for the contributions of all of our team members as we continue to support our students and programs.
Due to program adjustments, our Preschool program will shift from two classrooms to one. As a result, we will be saying goodbye to Pre-K teacher Jenn Cooper, as well as Pre-K instructional assistant Madison and Extended Resource instructional assistant Christine. We are so appreciative of the care and dedication they have brought to our young scholars. Marissa will be transitioning from Pre-K into a new role in Extended Resource, where she will continue to support students in a different capacity.
We also have a few additional staffing changes across the school. Greta’s position was reduced, and she has chosen to pursue a full-time opportunity elsewhere. In our middle school, we are excited to welcome Laurel Bettis, who will be joining us as our Middle School ELA/Social Studies teacher next year.
At the elementary level, Katherine, our current 2nd grade teacher, has accepted a position closer to home, and we wish her all the best in her new role. We also want to share that Maddy, who has been serving as our 3rd grade long-term substitute, will be leaving at the end of this year. We were allocated one fewer classroom and so these positions will be combined into a 2/3 classroom next year, and we are pleased to welcome Erik Hammen to our team in that role.
In addition, our EL teacher, Melissa Mak, will be moving to another school, we are grateful for the care and support she has provided to our multilingual learners and wish her all the best in her next chapter. Ashton will be moving on to a full-time position at another school. We are excited to share that Grayson Mays will be joining Licton Springs as our new PE teacher.
While it is always hard to say goodbye, we are incredibly thankful for the impact these staff members have had on our school community. At the same time, we look forward to welcoming new team members and continuing our work together in support of our students and families.
