Dear Licton Springs Families,
Welcome Back to a New School Year!
I hope you enjoyed the summer and are ready to start a new school year. I am so delighted that you are part of our amazing learning community. I welcome and value your positive energy and dedication to excellence in education and look forward to working with you and your children.
All signs point to another incredible and productive school year. Our skilled and devoted staff is already planning and preparing for your children. Our office team is registering new families, ordering needed materials and updating student files. Our much-appreciated PTO is gearing up to welcome families, provide volunteer opportunities, and offer other exciting events and pro- grams.
We are indeed a caring community with the common goals of nurturing re- sponsible, caring students and promoting high-level learning.

Daily Student Schedule
7:30 – Breakfast is served in lunchroom.
7:55 – School begins
2:25 – Dismissal. (Wednesday at 1:10 p.m., except for the first day of school.)
Late Arrivals Any student arriving after 7:55 a.m. must stop by the office to check in before going to class.
Early Pick up: When you arrive at school to pick up your child, we will call them to the office while you sign them out. **Only adults listed on your emergency form will be approved to take your child out of school.
Medications at School All medications, including over the counter medications, require doctor and parent permission if to be given/taken at school. Forms are available online and from the school nurse.
Cell Phones and Electronic Devices Students are only permitted to use these devices outside the school building, before and after school.
School Meals Licton Springs has free Breakfast and Lunch for all K-8 Students. Please fill out the income form online so we can continue to offer this program at this school.
Classroom Assignments Classroom configurations have changed a little bit this year.
Preschool will be with Kelly Holton (room 125) and Jenn Cooper (room 124)
Kindergarten will be with Kirsten Rysted in room 123
1st and 2nd grade will be with Katherine Lyon in room 204
3rd and 4th grade will be with Xena Eckert in room 201
5th and 6th grade will be with Keith Town in room 301
7th and 8th grade will be with Manju Sharma in room 302 and Haley Mullen in room 306
(MS schedule will be given to students on the 1st day of school)
School supply lists can be found on the Licton Springs website please supply what you can, if you need help, please let the school know and we can make sure your child has the supplies needed to be successful.
Transportation The Seattle Schools Transportation Department notifies families of their bus route, stop location, and time via US Mail. If you have not heard from them, you can contact them by phone at 206-252-0900 or by email at transdept@seattleschools.org. You can also find more information about transportation on the SPS Transportation web page.
Our staff works hard to make school a positive experience for ALL students. Licton Springs is looking forward to enriching your child’s life. Please remember that it can take a few weeks for a child to acclimate to a new grade, peer group, and teacher.
Thanks to all who are helping prepare for the new school year. I eagerly look forward to greeting students and families. It is an Honor and a privilege to serve as your principal.
