Good evening, Licton Springs K-8 Families,

Family Feedback:  We are seeking feedback from families on how the current school year is going.  The survey is just three questions long, so we hope you will take the time to complete it at the link here: https://forms.office.com/Pages/ResponsePage.aspx?id=WNEx1HRgMkiHg1Hqb23SJ0HtkBEYit9NlDRtrDBZOpNUNVU1NVNUN0czSkw5SFEyT1RGR0c2UUFaNCQlQCN0PWcu.

Technology Resource Centers & Free Hot Spots:  If you do not have access to WiFi for your child’s IPad or Laptop for online learning, you may go to one of the district technology centers to get a free hot spot.  You may also get tech support for your child’s district-issued technology at the centers.  For example, if your child’s device is broken, they may exchange it for another at one of the centers.  Our closest centers appear to be Nathan Hale and John Marshall Alternative High, though there are others around Seattle. Please view the district website to view the center locations and days and hours open as each center has different days they are open.  https://www.seattleschools.org/district/calendars/news/what_s_new/family_resource_centers

Drive Up Flu Shots:  We are headed into traditional flu season, and we are strongly encouraging all staff and families to get the flu shot.  SPS will be offering drive-up flu shot appointments for students and families over the age of four at 15 school sites, including our neighboring elementary school, Cascadia.  If Cascadia is not near your home, you can check out this SPS website for other locations. https://www.seattleschools.org/departments/health_services/flu_clinics.  Cascadia’s clinics are on Friday, 9/25 from 9-5pm and Wednesday, 9/30 from 9-5pm.  North Seattle College is also oferring this resource.  In order to receive shots, you must make an appointment, and can do so online at the link here:  https://schedule.seattlevna.com/home/158debe5-7cec-ea11-a817-000d3a31a6ee

8th Grade Family Meeting:  This year, 8th grade students were slated to take their world language class online even if we were holding classes in person.  The benefit to this is it offers students more choices to choose their language despite being at a very small school.  In fact, we are offering a wider selection of language choices than any other SPS school.  We will be holding an information session for 8th grade  families this week to support with the selection process. We will hold a meeting on Tuesday, 9/22 at 7pm and Wednesday, 9/23 at 9am and 1pm.  You may join one of these meetings here: Join Microsoft Teams Meeting

We look forward to your feedback and another week of learning with you and your scholar.
