LSK8 Inclement Weather Update
LSK8 Inclement Weather Update
Hi good afternoon LSK8 families,
Inclement Weather Update
I am not a Seattle native but the snow seemed to come early this year! The district has a plan in place for inclement weather that includes remote learning on the days when we cannot have school due to the weather. If there is a two hour start time delay or school is cancelled due to inclement weather, you will be notified via a robo-call, so it is important that your contact information is current with our school office. You may also check the district website home page for updates.
Bus Snow Routes
If there is a two-hour late start, busses will run on snow routes. If your child rides a bus the transportation department is mailing out snow route information to you. It’ll include their snow route, bus stop location, and times.
In the event of a two-hour late start, the bus stop location and times listed in this mailer are where students must catch their bus. It should be your mailboxes in early December. If you have any questions you can all transportation at-206-252-0900. You can also visit the Transportation Adverse Weather Plan Webpage
Technology
The District and the Seattle Education Agency have come to an agreement about virtual instruction during any inclement weather event that cancels school. Our teachers are prepared to move on-line in the event that school is closed due to snow. This means that starting Friday, February 9th, all scholars will take their devices home daily to prepare for inclement weather. We do not want your scholar to miss out on remote learning in case school is canceled last minute.
Please work with your scholar and make sure they bring their device and charger back to school DAILY (fully charged). Scholars use their technology during the school day as well. This will be a big transition for some of our students, so please work out a routine to make sure the devices come back to school daily.
This change will stay in effect until further notice.
This will also be in the Sunday newsletter, I just wanted to get the information out to you before the weekend.
Have a great weekend!
