The Site Council is the Parent Teacher Organization for Licton Springs K-8. Meetings are held monthly to organize events at the school, provide support for the teachers in the classroom, and address issues that come from Licton Springs families, students, and staff. Site council also organizes the selection of the parent/community representatives on the Building Leadership Team and provide a crucial place for parent/family leadership at the school. Site Council is YOU!

The Site Council is every student, family member and staff member at Licton Springs K-8. We are a three-sided entity, a triangle in which all sides are given equal weight. Committees have been formed under the Site Council umbrella to handle various aspects of running the school. Anyone can be a committee member.

The Site Council makes decisions. Committees may come up with plans and goals, which they bring to the Site Council for a vote. The Site Council also votes on how to spend the money that we raise. Our nonprofit entity, the Sir Herbert Read Consortium, holds the money and disburses funds.

The Site Council meets once a month and we invite you to attend— it is one of the best ways to keep your finger on the pulse of the school! Check the Newsletter for more information on meeting dates and times, or call the office at 206-413-2400.

Site Council Meetings to be held:
    2nd Monday each month
6:30-8:00pm on the 1st floor at Licton Springs

The Licton Springs Site Council would like a volunteer from each classroom to be the designated Room Parent.
*This parent would be able to come to PTO meetings (usually 2nd Monday of each month 6:30-8pm at school). Children are welcome to attend meetings.

*Email/call/meet with parents of your child's class to relay site council needs (volunteers for upcoming events, announcements etc.) and receive emails from parents in your child's class to bring ideas/comments/concerns to site council.

If you care interested in being the Room Parent for your child’s class, please contact Blaine at or Monica at
